Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day systems support in the datacenter
- Manage Domain/DNS configurations and changes
- Manage VPN policies
- Audit and maintain accurate records for inventory
- Carry out basic network tasks such as firewall requests and tagging vlans
- Help with patch management and ensuring a base level of security
- Manage backup scheduling and ensure the integrity of backups
- Creation of scripts to automate repetitive and complex processes and tasks
- Monitor the health of our server farm and respond to server alerts as per the company knowledgebase and instructions from Sr. Engineers
- Responsible for server stability
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Participate in a pager on-call rotation
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008
- Knowledge of Linux not required but preferred
- Previous server administration experience
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve server, network and software problems
- Ability to work productively and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Analytical skills
- Friendly presence and helpful attitude; good interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others

- Tools : Nagios/Cacti/WSUS/BackupExec/Jira/Confluence/PowerShell
- Storage : ISCSI/CIFS/NFS/ZFS/DFS/FRS/Equallogic/Nexenta/Netapp
- Server/Network : Juniper/Foundry/Brocade/Netscreen/APC/HP/DELL/IBM/VMWARE/AWS SNMP/SSL/SYSLOG/Active Directory
- Authentication : Radius/RAS/ACE/ISA/LDAP
