Greg Franchina, Chief Information Officer
- BS in Computer Science from The College of William and Mary
I have been with Spark since June of 2007 when I came on board as the company’s Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining the company, I held a number of technical and operational positions; most recently I was CIO and VP of Operations with Spot Runner, a technology-driven advertising company. Prior to that I was CIO and VP of Operations for WeddingChannel.com, President of a web-based information-services start-up, and have held various technical and operational roles at Platinum Technology and RELTECH Group.
In My Own Words
I have worked in businesses with a technical core for my entire career; fields where the business depends on the creation, evolution, and exploitation of some form of technology as its differentiator (e.g. electronic tabulations vs. pencil and paper) or as its primary conduit to the consumer (e.g. via the Internet). For a good portion of my career, I have been focused on building those companies from the ground-up, growing them through adolescence, and managing the execution of those businesses into maturity. As my own career has matured, I have realized that although I focus less on the company start-up evolution, I still follow a familiar journey within each endeavor and that gives me great assurance that I’m exactly where I should be.
My Ideal Match
Throughout my career I have been lucky to work with many talented, dedicated, intellectually curious, and conscientious people working toward a worthwhile common goal. I am driven by that sense of partnership and camaraderie achieved when working synchronously with a team. I am invigorated by overcoming challenges and achieving successful conclusions. I want to work with people who have similar sensibilities, and share my enthusiasm for making the absolute best experience for our customers, and I’ve definitely found that here at Spark!
