Mobile UI Developer/Web Developer
Beverly Hills, CA
Job Summary:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
The Mobile UI Developer/Web Developer is responsible for each assigned project’s look-and-feel, and is expected to uphold the company’s high standard of design and execution. The successful candidate is expected to fully immerse him/herself in every project’s subject matter – becoming the expert for each project.
The Mobile UI Developer/Web Developer will become very familiar with the tone, emotion, and attitude of our mobile products. He/she must keep current with developments in relevant fields, new technologies, competitive trends, and emerging research. Spark Networks is a Scrum environment, therefore the successful candidate will work closely with the rest of the core mobile team to assess, brainstorm, and articulate current and future elements on the Mobile Product Backlog. This role requires very strong communication skills.
Essential Functions:
- Develop HTML5, Objective-C, or Java applications for mobile devices
- Work with JQuery and JQuery Mobile frameworks
- Work with software engineering to map-out interactions between Mobile UI and the back-end
- Assist in the conceptual development and design of mobile user interfaces
- Help define and support a long term strategy for our mobile product offerings
- Develop HTML, CSS, AJAX, and JavaScript for our websites
- Interpret design elements from communications with customers, product management, and software engineering
- Work with creative designers to construct mock-ups for new mobile projects
Minimum Qualifications:
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE
- One or more years of development experience in Mobile UI Development for iOS and Android
- Experience developing 3 or more projects in HTML5, Objective-C, or Java for mobile devices
- Working knowledge of Interface Builder, X-code, and Eclipse a huge plus
- Solid experience with Objective-C
- Solid experience writing HTML5 & CSS3
- Experience and knowledge in JavaScript, including JQuery or similar JavaScript frameworks
- Experience integrating mobile applications to Web Services is a plus
- Experience and knowledge in Mobile device compatibility and bug avoidance
- Experience and knowledge in Adobe Photoshop a plus
- Understanding of ASP.NET a plus
- Experience with Visual Studio is a plus
- Ability to produce quality work within tight timelines
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- B.A., B.S., or B.F.A. preferred, but not required
