Mobile UX/UI Designer
Beverly Hills, CA
Job Summary:
THIS IS A FULL-TIME POSITION
As a Mobile UI/UX Designer with Spark Networks you will drive the UX/UI design process for the company’s mobile products; including handsets, tablets, readers, smart TV’s, and more. You understand that user experience is more than the sum its parts. You are current with emerging mobile technologies, mobile design patterns, and trends in mobile design/development. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced, Scrum product development environment. You are an advocate for users and a steward of user-centric design. You encourage design feedback and listen well, but know how to separate the noise from what is truly relevant, constructive, actionable, and ultimately valuable for our users.
Essential Functions:
- Drive the conceptual development and design of the company’s mobile user experiences
- Interpret product requirements and apply interaction/information/visual design to create user-experiences to meet those product requirements
- Present and rationalize designs to product and development team; facilitate collaborative feedback discussions and incorporate feedback into designs as needed
- Develop, own, and maintain detailed UX and UI artifacts
- Own and produce site/app maps, wireframes, simulated prototypes, pixel-perfect mocks with annotations, sliced image assets
- Contribute to the company’s evolving UX/UI standards, and implement high consistently across all mobile products
Minimum Qualifications:
- Passion for all things mobile and social
- At least 1 year of mobile UX/UI design experience
- At least 2 years of web UX/UI design experience
- Designed and/or developed at least 1 (one) iOS app
- Ability to design for and communicate the capabilities and limitations of iOS and/or Android platforms
- Online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating user-centric mobile design and visual styling
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn AND teach
- BA/BS degree in Web/Graphic Design or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Some lead experience
- Experience with subscription-based web and/or online dating/social network businesses
- Knowledge of JQuery mobile and/or similar mobile frameworks
