Director of Acquisition Marketing
Beverly Hills, CA
We are seeking a highly motivated online marketing expert with a minimum of five years of marketing/customer acquisition experience. Experience with subscription-based businesses is preferred, but we will certainly consider a direct marketing superstar without a heavy subscription background.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to Spark’s President and COO, the Director of Acquisition Marketing will help set the strategic direction of our acquisition marketing programs to help us achieve our registration, subscription and contribution goals. Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Developing and executing customer acquisition programs principally through online marketing channels (most prominently, SEM, SEO, affiliate, display and email) that meet the company’s revenue and contribution goals

Driving the strategic direction of the acquisition marketing program and working closely with the post-acquisition marketing team to ensure a smooth transition from registration through to subscription and renewal

Leading both the internal marketing team and external agencies critical to the company’s marketing success

Monitoring and analyzing key business metrics (e.g., registrations, subscriptions, subscriber acquisition cost, lifetime value (LTV)) on a campaign-by-campaign basis, and taking appropriate action based upon such analysis

Developing and maintaining relationships with all key marketing partners

Negotiating advertising relationships with a variety of different publishing partners, both online and offline

Managing the marketing creative development process to ensure the creative is constantly optimized

Required:

5+ years of marketing/customer acquisition experience (and, as mentioned earlier, subscription-based experience is preferred but not required)

A manager’s manager should not apply for this position – you must be a hands-on manager with a strong desire, to roll-up your sleeves and work alongside your team

Solid online marketing background – expertise in SEM, SEO, affiliate (CPA and non-search CPC), social media and display (CPM) advertising channels

Superior analytic skills, and the ability to compile, analyze and leverage performance data to both identify new opportunities and optimize current campaigns

Experience with A/B and multivariate testing

Experience managing, optimizing and growing multiple direct response online media campaigns and partnerships

Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed acquisition targets and a desire to own and be accountable for the online acquisition funnel

Deep knowledge of advertising creative development, including an understanding of how consumers engage with direct response media and the levers that drive performance

Great written and oral communication skills

Bachelors degree
Preferred:

Leadership experience in a marketing organization is preferred, but not required – this role could be a great opportunity for someone with a deep direct marketing experience and the capacity to lead who has not yet had an opportunity to do so

Experience and familiarity with offline media along with the ability to measure and track its performance, and optimize it
